Mein alter Jugendstil Schreibtisch ist leider kaputt gegangen und musste repariert werden. In dem Zusammenhang wurden gleich noch ein paar Macken wieder ausgebessert. Investigations by the artLABOR ®
The workshop-internal artLABOR ® offers the Central Restoration Workshop Berlin the possibility to carry out various examinations. The basis is the general preliminary examination by a qualified conservator who, with his expertise and extensive wealth of experience, can gather initial findings by taking a close look. By means of the technological examination by the Central Restoration Workshop Berlin, exact insights into the manufacture and history of an old piece of furniture, work of art or wooden object are gained. Two in-house spectrometers are used for the non-destructive, low-destructive and imaging examination. Through cooperation with other specialist laboratories, further information can be gathered if necessary.

Specialist planning and supervision of your restoration project through service phases 1 to 9 of the HOAI
Our Zentrale Restaurierungswerkstatt Berlin offers you the supervision of your conservation or restoration project through stages 1 to 9 according to § 3 of the Fee Structure for Architectural and Engineering Services (HOAI).
In detail, these entail the following services:
- basic evaluation: condition analysis and photographic inventory, examination of findings, conducting preliminary restoration surveys, scientific analysis in cooperation with cooperating laboratories and institutes, mapping of damage phenomena, preparation of damage image catalogs.
- preliminary planning: inventory and definition of the conservation and restoration goal, design of a comprehensive survey concept, creation of sample and test areas, execution of test work
- design planning: drafting a detailed conservation and restoration strategy, cost calculation for the client according to DIN 276.
- approval planning: preparation of documents for obtaining approvals under the monument protection law
- implementation planning: planning of concrete conservation and restoration measures
- preparation for the award of a contract: quantity determination, elaboration of specifications (VOB) as well as performance specifications (VOF)
